Wing Gallery is very pleased to present the work of
Lori Faye Bock!
Lori Faye Bock and her husband, Richard, purchased a 260 year old
adobe farmhouse in New Mexico in 1989. After extensive renovations,
the Bocks moved into their home along the Chama River as they relocated
from Santa Fe in October 1990. Prior to moving, hundreds of Austrian
Pine and Ponderosa Pine evergreen seedlings were planted on the eight
and a half acre farm.
Abby (gray tabby), H.G. Tux (tuxedo Manx),
Miranda (snowshoe Siamese), Dion & Ella (mackerel tabbies) occupy
the inside residence while Fanny (calico), the outside cat, patrols
the exterior for mice. But now, at age fifteen, Fanny prefers to reside
in the office most of the time!
Dreamboat, the Belgian Shepherd rescued from the Santa Fe Animal Shelter
in the summer of 1991, serves as the goodwill ambassador between the
cats inside and the other dogs, Wags, a giant "Benji Mutt"
(Dreamboat's First Lieutenant), Pan and Sal (border collies) and Blitzen
and Flash (Great White Pyrenees) and a flock of about forty-five sheep.
Born October 22, 1956 in Detroit Michigan,
Bock received her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education
from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo in 1981. She also attended
the Center for Creative Studies College of Art & Design in Detroit,
MI from 1974 to 1977 and Pewabic Pottery, also Detroit, MI from 1975
to 1977.
Bock has several awards and commissions to her credit: "I Will Protect
You" and "Seldom Separated" are paintings chosen by the American Humane
Association to create public awareness amongst Americans to identify
their companion pets through several National Tag Day campaigns. Additional
credits include projects with PETsMART Charities and most recently,
an image for the ASPCA.
