Frenchmen were the first to make enamel miniatures in
the 17th century. The English learned the skills in the 18th century
and applied them to copper boxes and created these hand painted bibelots.
Unfortunately, the English now use transfer-printer technology in order
to mass produce these boxes. The hand-paint tradition was lost until
recently revived by the makers of our Miniature Teapots. Ours are 100%
handmade, following the 17th century tradition.
They are for decorative use only and measure approximately
3 to 4-1/2" high and approximately 2-1/2" - 3-1/2" wide.
They are quite collectible and make wonderful gifts. Frame several of
them in an acrylic box for your shelf or your wall. For information
on our acrylic boxes, please email or call us. You may purchase the
teapots in our Secure Online Store!
