FAQ: Why can't I find the image I am looking for? We have many more images in our gallery and will be happy to help you find what you are looking for. Just contact us and let us know what you would like to see and we will do our best to locate it for you and add it to our site. FAQ: Do you have a price list or a complete catalog of all the prints done by a specific artist? We have many catalogs but usually, there is not a complete collection of one artist's work. Many artists have been published by different publishers over the years. This makes it nearly impossible to have a complete collection of their work. We do carry books on several of our artists and often this is a complete collection of their work, or close to it! Let us know which artists you are interested in and, again, we will do our best to locate exactly what you are looking for. FAQ: What does "ISSUE PRICE" mean? When a print is released, the publisher establishes it retail price. This is the price at which the print is issued. Generally, until the print is "SOLD OUT", this will remain the selling price of the print. FAQ: What does "SOLD OUT" at the publisher mean? When a print is no longer available from the publisher, it is "SOLD OUT". It may still be available at Wing Gallery at the issue price or we may be able to find it for you, still at the issue price. FAQ: What is a Print Publisher? A Print Publisher is generally the company that represents the artist. They work together to produce limited editions of the artist's work and then distribute the prints through a network of authorized dealers. FAQ: What is the "Secondary Market"? Once the print is "SOLD OUT", it can usually be found on the "Secondary Market". The price will vary according to the demand for the print. Often the print will escalate in value dramatically -- but not always. We have excellent sources and will locate the print for you at the best possible price. The prices and availability vary at different times due to the popularity of the image and the artist. FAQ: What is a "Limited Edition"? A Limited Edition is a set of identical prints numbered in succession and signed in pencil by the artist. The total number of prints in an edition is fixed by the artist who inspects each print before signing to ensure it is "true" to his/her original vision. "S/N" denotes a signed and numbered limited edition. FAQ: What is an "Artist's Proof"? An Artist's Proof is a print outside of the regular edition, but printed at the same time or after the regular edition is printed. It is printed from the same plates without any changes. Generally the artist retains the A/P's for his personal use or sale. Most often the A/P's are 10% of the total edition.

FAQ: What is a "Giclee"? The Giclee (French for "to spray") takes advantage of the advances in continuous tone digital technology. The substrate to be printed on (usually archival paper or canvas) is placed on the drum of an Iris printer and rotated at high speed. Individual colors are sprayed on the surface at a rate of four million droplets per second at a velocity of 90 miles per hour. Each droplet is the size of a red blood cell. FAQ: Can I purchase prints framed? Yes! Absolutely! Most of the prints you see in our website are unframed. A few, such as the Charles Wysocki canvases are available framed by the publisher. We offer fine custom picture framing on all of our prints and canvases. We will be happy to discuss your framing needs and determine the type of framing you would like. We specialize in hand-painted borders and high quality framing. We use archival materials, for conservation framing, and ship framed paper pieces with Plexiglas. FAQ: What is Conservation Framing? We frame your artwork so the print remains undamaged, in its original condition, should you chose to unframe it at a later date. We accomplish this by the use of acid-free materials, to protect the artwork from deterioration and discoloration. We also offer special glass and Plexiglas to further protect your artwork from fading. FAQ: How do I order from Wing Gallery? We have several options for you: Visit our online store to find what you are looking for. If you do not see it there, please call our toll-free number, (800)422-WING, during business hours. We can also accept your order by FAX at (818)981-WING. FAQ: How can I pay for my Online purchases? We gladly accept VISA, MasterCard, and Discover as well as Personal Checks, Money Orders and Cashier's checks. We must wait for your personal check to clear our bank so it will delay the shipping of your purchase. FAQ: How do you ship prints and sculptures? Prints and canvases are shipped flat in most instances. There are a few prints, due to their extreme size, that are shipped rolled up. All items are shipped via United Parcel Service, unless otherwise indicated. All are fully insured and packed with the utmost care. FAQ: Do you offer a LAYAWAY plan? Please call us at (800)422-WING and we can discuss what you have in mind. We will do all we can to accommodate your needs to make purchasing from Wing Gallery a true pleasure. FAQ: Can you tell me what my print collection is worth? We are not licensed appraisers but we can offer you current print values based on trade sources. The prices are determined by a current listing of prints for sale and based on prices of recent print sales. This is usually acceptable by insurance companies. This is a FREE service we offer our customers for prints they have purchased from Wing Gallery. Please give us a call if you are a new customer of ours, with an existing collection, and we can discuss your needs. |
